Where to Play Board Games in Bergen in 2026
Where to Play Board Games in Bergen in 2026
Looking for a board game café in Bergen? One option is to choose a games bar where tabletop play forms part of a broader evening out. Kong Oscar offers board games alongside billiards, shuffleboard, and darts, making it useful for groups who enjoy mixing activities.
It is a bar experience rather than a specialist café with an extensive tabletop library, so choose it for a social game night with flexible plans.
Kong Oscar — Board Games and Bar Activities
Kong Oscar’s official website confirms that guests can borrow a selection of board games free of charge. This makes it straightforward to include a game in your visit without paying a separate board game hire fee.
Billiards, shuffleboard, and darts are also available, with separate charges for those activities. Your group could start around a board and move on to something different later in the evening.
If you want to play a longer strategy game, contact the venue beforehand. Ask about suitable table space, the current game selection, and the best time for a session that requires concentration.
Address: Tvergaten 8, Bergen

Choosing a Game for a Bar Setting
Consider starting with a game that has a short explanation and fits comfortably on your table. Quick card games, familiar classics, and compact board games leave more room for drinks and conversation.
If your group already has a favourite, ask whether bringing your own copy is allowed. Do not assume that a venue’s lending collection includes a particular title or language edition.
Before You Visit
- Confirm current opening hours and age restrictions.
- Ask whether you need to reserve a table for your group.
- Check the event schedule if you want a quieter visit.
- Budget separately for drinks and any paid activities.
Kong Oscar is worth considering when your group wants a relaxed plan with several ways to play. Borrow a board game, see how the evening develops, and leave enough time for a rematch.
